The game is a little over an hour long with one ending! And this is my first ever game haha I really hope that you enjoy! ^o^

After downloading the game, extract the .zip folder. Then click on the game.exe in the folder to play!
In order to play, you have to have already downloaded the RPG Maker VX Ace RTP that you can download here.

This game was adorable and that plot twist surprised me. I liked the twins characters because they just gave off a I don't care attitude.

Have you tried saving in different areas of the game? What area were you attempting to save in?
The only thing I could recommend right now is to try reinstalling the game? I'm sorry for that ;__;

Just finished playing the game and loved it!!! But I have some questions, like, do we actually see the baby of the witch? ( idk why, I tought it was the girl that sells us stuff) and, why is the game named hansel?

So the baby doesn't appear in the game, though I could see why some people would believe it's the clerk! ^^
And for the game title, "Hansel" was originally just the placeholder name for the project while I worked on the game! The story of hansel and gretel is of a brother and sister who get trapped in a witch's house, so I decided what if I had brothers get trapped in a witch's house? But "Hansel and Hansel" sounded a little weird so it just became "Hansel". And then it just stuck as the title! <3
Hello, sorry, i just can't seem to use the round key?
Hi!! Where are you attempting to use the round key? The round key can actually only be used at a specific door with a certain condition :)
I have been trying to use it on the door to the far right of the corridor, which also uses the clock key.
Nevermind i found out where to use it!
Hi, I'm loving the game so far, but I'm stuck with the key painting, everytime I finish it I click X (my Esc is not working in games for some reason so I couldn't try it) but it doesn't save my progress or anything, is there anything I'm doing wrong or that I can do?
I realized it would only work if I left bottom right empty, I tried so many times haha, I was even starting to get deja vú. Anyways, I finished the game and it was so good and the plot was really fun, I love it ;D
Yeah the puzzle is a little annoying that you have to leave the bottome right empty, but I'm glad it worked out for you! :D

during the puzzle where you have to arrange the animals, if you tell the squirrel you're switching him the game misnames him as bear

Hi! In order to play games made with RPG Maker VX Ace and earlier, you have to download the RTP. With this you can play any game made with that version of RPG Maker :)

I use windows, it says something like "download failed" (I had to translate it literally)

that sure was a trip. the plot twists were definetely unexpected, and the puzzles were fun! oliver and walter are really funny and sweet and I love them. one thing (spoilers for who still needs to complete the game)

It was so intriguing to recall moments in the first round that echoed what happened. Like Walter telling Oliver to not touch the stove. I really enjoyed that. Something else that interests me is when, Walter I believe, mentioned becoming a witch in front of his mother, and how he didn't the second time around. It makes me think of how, if the white bird didn't spill, their mother may have turned on the twins as well. I think it's cool for stories to have multiple interpretations like that.

Really cute game! I loved the pastel color scheme and the character design. I thought the personality of the twins was really funny because they didn't fall into the typical 'happy to help' main character mold.

this is probably one of my favorite rpgmaker games so far!! the plot twist genuinely caught me off guard and the dialogue was written so well that it only makes the truth of the situation hit even harder. incredible job, i'm happy i was able to play this!

I havn't finished the game because I'm stuck on the part where you have to find the stuff for the cake ;w; but from what I've played it's very fun and enjoyable! I really like the game and the main boys (they're so cute! idk if they're supposed to be annoying or not but I love them)!! This is amazing for your first game :))

If you're still stuck, to find the stuff for the cake you have to
(First look at the cookbook in the library area, it's the blue book that's stuck to the table I believe)
Then:
- buy the flour from the shop place
- help rearrange the animals in that tea party place
- get the remaining items from the fridge
I believe that's all!

Just finished it and i can say that this game is indeed impressive. Few issues here and there, mostly technical issues with a few noticable narrative issues as well, but they'll get better surely over time.
I particularly adore the casual drops of morally compromised or trope-subverting lines and actions. They add a certain sense of surrealism in a way. Love the variety in NPC's dialogues too.
Overall, an interesting game. I'll surely be waiting for your next release. Cheers!

The design is really cute and the story is really interesting.
I understood that Oliver and Walter didn't have the same design only after an hour, Then I noticed that Oliver has folded sleeves xD
By the way, why is the game named Hansel? is it a reference to the Hansel and Gretel fairytail? Or is something else?

Hansel was a wild ride from start to finish. The twins begin as very unlikeable brats but evolve into children struggling against the cruelties of the world who were forced to make choices to survive. I enjoyed the gameplay and puzzles typical of classic RPG Makers. Each area was fun to explore. The twist of the story caught me off-guard a little but kept me going until the end with intense interest. The only complain I have is that I got lost in the village area before the climax of helping the girl escape from the village. I didn't know I had to talk to everyone to continue to the next event. But then again, I tend to miss obvious cues. This game has been added to the list of ones that will continue to haunt me (albeit in a good way).
